PIZZA DOUGH - Makes 1 Pizza
Ingredients
Directions:
1) Heat soymilk on the stove until hot. Add oats and honey.
2) When the soymilk cools down and is warm, add yeast and stir well.
3) You want the yeast to begin to foam a little; this takes a few minutes.
4) Add oil, salt, and Italian seasoning.
5) Mix together.
6) Slowly add the wheat, white flour, mixing together until it becomes a soft dough.
7) Turn your oven on 225° until it reaches temperature, then turn it off.
8) Knead for 5 to 10 minutes.
9) Put parchment paper on pizza pan and put dough on the pan. Drizzle several drops of
olive oil on top of the dough and smooth over the surface of the dough.
10) Roll the pizza dough out to the edges of the pizza pan with a rolling pin. Lightly oil the
top of the dough and place a sheet of parchment paper on top. This will keep the dough
from drying out while it is rising. Next, wet a light kitchen towel with wet hands and place
this on the top of the parchment paper. This adds just the right amount of moisture to
aid in rising.
11) Place the pizza pan with dough in the warm oven. Place dough in after it cools
somewhat. You want the oven warm, not hot.
12) Let the dough rise until double in size. (About 40 minutes – this will depend on your
oven)
13) After dough has risen, leave in the oven and remove the towel and parchment paper.
Put your oven on 350° and wait until it reaches temperature. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes
or until lightly golden.
14) Remove from oven. Baking the dough before putting the pizza ingredients on gives you a
better crust and less chance for it to become soggy.
